Anonymous: I don't normally ask things on anonymous forums but Nick is about as bad of a friend to Ethan and the rest of the guys as Isabel is to you and your friends. I'm sorry but please do something about that

I respect that that might be your opinion but I don’t really think it’s appropriate to take it upon myself to “do something” - not really my place to tell him who or who not to be friends with. Ethan is smart enough to choose his own friends and I think he’s generally picked quite well

it was alright, i mean people are bound to drink too much and get a little crazy but i found it to be quite an amusing night!

Anonymous: you seem to use your looks so much to get yourself attention in the fashion industry. half your followers are constantly complimenting you on your face, not your talent as a fashion journalist. you may pass this off as someone 'hating' on you but it just seems so obvious. if you focused on the actual craft of fashion, maybe intelligent people could take you more seriously

Lol okay first off: I don’t actively try and “get attention” in the industry, so if people choose to give me attention for my looks as opposed to my writing skills, that’s their call and it’s fine with me. Not everyone is going to think I’m good looking, nor is everyone going to appreciate my writing, so if they like me for either one or both of those things then that’s cool with me. Better to be liked for something than not at all!

What makes you think intelligent people don’t take me seriously? I’ve had the pleasure of working with extremely talented people in the industry who DO take me seriously because I give them reason to - I don’t post 25 selfies in a row, rambling about my latest trip to the hair salon using broken English and call that a blogpost like some bloggers do. My blog is a mix of my life and love for fashion, and whether that takes the form of writing about local or international designers, event coverage or how fashion relates to my life on a personal level, it’s what I choose to post and therefore how I wish to portray myself. “The craft of fashion” is extremely subjective so my interpretation might be different to yours.

Anonymous: Hey ! thanks a lot for your advices. Honestly, i really think you're right. I mean i didn't want to create a blog to have free things, to go to events ... I didn't even think that much persons would do this ONLY to get these free things, but you know this 'world' better than me, so you must be right. xx

hahaha well it’s good that you don’t view those things as reasons to blog, and it surprised me too how many people come into this industry only with selfish intentions. Good luck xx

Anonymous: I love your blog! I live in America and I'm going to Bali, Singapore, Bangkok and Hong Kong in the summer which I'm really excited about and I was wondering if you had any shopping suggestions if that's too much to ask for? xx

Thanks so much! I’m only familiar with shopping in Singapore and in Bangkok - Bangkok definitely hit up Platinum Mall for some of the cheapest clothing you will ever find. It’s 7 floors of budget heaven and once you’re there you’ll never want to leave! Definitely also check out the main malls such as Central, and MBK is fun for a really good mix of teenager-esque stores. In Singapore, Orchard Road pretty much has everything you need, but Haji Lane is a nice small street you can hit up for small, local labels, and the location is super culturally rich and photogenic too :) Good luck and have fun! Xxx

Anonymous: have you got advices for a girl who want to have a fashion blog like you ? (: xx

    Definitely!

    1) Don’t start a blog to get invited to events, be “glamorous” and “famous” and get free stuff. So many people venture into this field for the completely wrong reasons, and it’s embarrassingly obvious when you’re one of these people. I blogged for over two years without ever being recognized or invited to anything, and I was genuinely perfectly fine with just sharing my passion with an online audience. Free stuff, events and fashion may sound very glamorous, and I guess it is on the surface, but it’s also only the superficial element of blogging which everyone now seems to strive for. If you’re in it for the wrong reasons then you’re honestly better off not in it at all.

    2) Be individual! I hate it when other bloggers copy what I do - yeah it’s a sign that they look up to you, but with so many bloggers now, the key thing is to market yourself on something different. Develop your own writing style, find your niche audience and be good to them, design your layout so that your blog is the best expression of you and not anyone else. Be inspired by other people, but stay true to yourself. Nothing puts me off a blog more than when I detect hints of other peoples’ originality on a blog that just turns out to be a carbon copy of everyone else’s creativity.

    3) If you’re following steps 1 and 2 (doing it for the right reasons and staying true to yourself), then you would’ve probably fulfilled this step too, which is basically just have fun. Don’t take yourself too seriously and enjoy what you do. It’s that sole, simple joy of blogging that appeals to me most, and that’s the way it should be.

(Sorry I sound super rude and harsh and pushy but these are things I feel strongly about hahah)
